After 4 months of lockdown we had a week in Cornwall last week. While anxious to go we actually had a really lovely week.

On the build up to actually going and packing everything a family of 4 and a dog needs for a week away (car boot couldn’t take any more!!!) I had to think about getting my crochet down there safely and cleanly.

Normally my current WIPs sit in a basket next to the sofa in our sitting room where I sit at night with my husband watching TV and crocheting. But taking it out somewhere with me, brings (me) a whole host of issues. I have a bit of OCD, nothing major but I get anxious if certain things aren’t quite right, admittedly in my own head. So, my crochet WIP needs to be transported, anywhere, in something clean that will keep it ‘safe’.
My daughter is a dancer and both my son and daughter are members of a local Lee Matthews British Military Martial Arts class, and I often take my WIPs along to carry on with while I sit and watch them at their various classes. So I bought myself a Mia Tui folding travel bag ‘Alex’.

It’s a great bag as it’s large enough for a decent size WIP, plus it holds my bag with my hooks, scissors, stitch markers etc in, which incidentally is another Mia Tui bag, the Beau make up bag no less, and it also holds my yarn bowl.
I discovered Mia Tui some years ago when my daughter was still in nappies. Fed up with years of carrying around 2 bags, the babies change bag plus a handbag for myself I wanted something I could combine both bags in one and Mia Tui came up trumps for me. I have since gone on to purchase several of their bags and it’s my first place to look when I’m looking for something new. I find the bags so versatile, hence using the make up bag and a place to store my hooks etc.
So, when the car was fully loaded and we were ready to set off it occurred to me that for one holiday I had 5 Mia Tui products in the car with me. The Alex folding bag with my WIP inside and the Beau make up bag. The Emma bag, (no longer available) containing my laptop, kids iPads, my iPad and all the other essentials a Mom needs in her bag, plus the Isobel and Molly bags as my ‘going out in the day’ bags, And if you’ve ever visited the Mia Tui site you’ll know that the larger bags all come with clear plastic pouches so I had one of those too full with the ‘medical kit’ that goes with me everywhere.

So, if like me, you like to keep your projects clean and protected, have a look at Mia Tui for they’re bound to have something to suit.
